Hey people!
I have recently beat Undertale, and I have a lot of things to say about it, so I want to put them in a journal entry. Oh and by the way, if you don't want spoilers skip to the last paragraph.
First off, I completed the true pacifist route. I will not settle for anything less (neutral or genocide). I was conflicted when Flowey warned me not to restart the world. Now although I knew that by restarting the world I would end up doing the true pacifist run again, but simply the thought of having to go back to a worse stage, in which all of my friends were not my friends and possibly their characters less developed, disturbed me. But it came down to whether I would rather simply stop playing the game, being at peace with the minutes of a happy ending I got, or play it again and remember the story. And I would want to remember the story because I loved it so much. And so I reset. I have yet to beat it a second time (on pacifist).
But simply my asking myself the question of whether I should restart shows how meaningful the game was to me. Often, when I watch movies with happier endings and sadder beginnings, I don't feel sad watching the movie again, as I want to relive the story again. But Undertale connected so much with me that I mistook the fallen human for myself, and I was anxious to go back to a sadder beginning.
And because the game was so emotional for me (I was on the verge of crying near the end), I want to express my feelings about it through fan art! And I can also become part of the Undertale fan art community on DA! I'm not sure if I will be able to express my emotions as well through as I would like to, but I will try and maybe become better at it in the process.
So now to make this journal extra-long let me list some of my favorite stuff from Undertale.
Favorite scenes:
- final Asriel battle (Hopes and Dreams)
- Metaton EX battle
- cooking with Undyne
- definitely not Flowey trollfest
Favorite characters:
- Papyrus
- Undyne
- Toriel
- Asriel
Apologies for such a long journal. TL;DR expect Undertale art.
Goodbye for now!
